Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring an active IL license and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital setting within the Cardiac Cath Lab
• Unit includes 6 suites/labs handling 4-20 cases per day with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Cares for patients with STEMI, NSTEMI, HF, congenital defects, and performs TAVR, MitraClip, and peripheral procedures
• Cath Lab operates separately from IR and EP departments
• Uses EPIC EMR along with GE and Philips monitors and McKesson systems
• Standard shifts are 4x10s with occasional extended hours to complete emergent cases
• Call requirements include 6-8 call shifts per month covering primary and backup call
• Weekend call rotation occurs every 6-7 weeks, running from Friday 5:30pm to Monday 6:00am
• Additional backup weekend shifts (24-hour shifts) occur approximately once per month
• Holiday call requirement includes Easter backup call
• No routine floating required, though IR experience may allow shared coverage
• Charge nurse serves as a shift resource and coordinates scheduling and calls

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Must have the ability to read cardiac strips and occasionally titrate drips
• Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels as part of a Drug-Free Campus policy

Additional Information

• Serve as part of a 3-person case team consisting of 1 RN and 2 RTR cath lab techs, with 4-person teams for call cases
• Cardiologists are on call 24/7, 365 days a year, supporting the cath lab team
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Local rates apply for clinicians residing within 50 miles of the facility, with no radius restriction on eligibility
• COVID vaccination is not required for this facility
