Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab in Bloomington, Illinois

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,820–$2,970
• Location: Bloomington, Illinois
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care Cardiac Cath Lab and Pre/Post Angio
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week with call; some shifts may extend based on procedural volume
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Patient Volume: Approximately 4–6 cases per day across six pre/post beds

Cardiac Cath Lab RN Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois or confirmation that the Illinois RN license application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab, interventional, or related procedural nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Experience admitting, preparing, monitoring, and recovering patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, Interventional Radiology, and Electrophysiology procedures
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and safely titrate medications and intravenous drips
• Knowledge of commonly used intravenous medications in procedural and recovery settings
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, critical-thinking, and emergency-response skills

Cardiac Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Admit, assess, prepare, monitor, and recover patients before and after invasive cardiac and vascular procedures
• Care for patients undergoing heart catheterizations, peripheral angiograms, STEMI interventions, stroke and neurointerventional procedures, drain and line placements, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, TEE, cardioversion, and EP studies
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
• Administer and titrate intravenous medications and drips according to provider orders and clinical protocols
• Collaborate with providers, Cath Lab technologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary procedural teams
• Provide safe, thorough patient handoffs and complete accurate nursing documentation in Epic
• Respond effectively to urgent and emergent patient needs in a fast-paced procedural environment
