Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring recent fresh open heart and mixed ICU patient experience.

Details

• Acute care Level 2 trauma facility, 30-bed Cardiac ICU
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2, with approximately 90% of assignments at 1:2
• Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment
• Uses GE telemetry monitors and ventilators
• Cerner EMR used for charting
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7, RT and pharmacy also available 24/7
• 12-hour day shifts, 6:45-7:15, self-scheduling with schedules made about 6 weeks in advance
• Every other weekend requirement
• First to float among tele or medsurg units
• One day of unit-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Recent experience with fresh open heart patients required
• Experience with mixed ICU patient populations required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to cardiovascular ICU patients including those with fresh open heart procedures and mixed ICU diagnoses
• Telemetry, L&D, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs will complete a proctored Pass/Fail Dysrhythmia test onsite on day one
• Navy scrub color required
• Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• No IV team or nurse aides on this unit
