Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Med/Surg unit requiring at least one year of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in a Cardiac Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 7am-730pm, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Rotating weekend and holiday shift requirements
• May float to Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital
• Uses Epic charting system
• Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control
• Uses lift equipment for patient moving and handling

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Strong critical thinking and independent judgment skills
• Basic computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser applications
• Multicultural sensitivity and fluent English communication skills

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation using the nursing process
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care from admission to discharge
• Document patient progress, care plans, and outcomes throughout each shift
• Demonstrate technical knowledge of medical equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and care team members
• Provide teaching and support to patients and families based on individual needs
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• RTO may not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment longer than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning to any facility within the health system
