Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Cardiac unit requiring an active IL RN license and prior cardiac med/surg experience.

Details

• Cardiac Med-Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week across 3 twelve-hour shifts
• 13-week contract assignment
• Weekend shifts on a rotating basis
• Holiday shifts on a rotating basis
• May float to other Carle Health facilities including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital
• Uses EPIC EMR charting system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three years of applicable nursing experience
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
• Strong critical thinking and independent judgment skills
• Multicultural sensitivity

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to develop and adjust individualized patient care plans
• Perform bedside lab testing and associated quality control per facility policies
• Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and team members
• Provide patient and family education tailored to age-specific needs
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
• Travel agency partners are not accepted for this assignment
