Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized cardiac PCU nursing care for patients presenting with myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke with cardiac involvement
• Manage pre- and post-operative care for open-heart surgery and vascular surgery patients, including sternal precautions and chest tube setup and care
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management; support epicardial pacer management and cardioversion/defibrillation
• Administer blood and blood products; provide care involving CPAP/BiPap, breathing treatments, and trach care
• Support specialized structural heart patients including LVAD and post-op open heart (24–28 hours) with groin/radial band management
• Float to like units as needed; every other weekend commitment expected

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard-stop requirement
• Minimum 2 years of experience; at least 2–3 years of telemetry experience required, including surgical tele, open heart surgery, and vascular experience
• This unit does not accept first-time travelers; prior travel nursing experience is required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a standard travel candidate (locals may be considered under separate terms)
• Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of submittal
• 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with VAD and/or TAVR/TVAR structural heart support
• Background in pre- and post-cath lab care with or without interventions
• Familiarity with epicardial pacing and advanced cardiac monitoring
