Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Cardiac PCU) position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a 48-bed Cardiac PCU within a hospital setting
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
  • Patient population includes cardiac diagnoses such as PCI and pacemakers
  • Common medications administered include Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
  • Required skills include IV therapy, PCA, feeding tubes, wound vac, CBI, trach care, and central line care
  • RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend required per unit need
  • ANM support provided on the unit

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient plans of care
  • Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
  • Participates in a Practice Governance model emphasizing evidence-based practice and teamwork
  • Facilitates patient and family education related to care, treatment, and discharge planning
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and family needs
