Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute PCU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiac PCU with 48 beds and a 1:5 patient ratio
• Patients with cardiac diagnoses including PCI and pacemaker cases
• Medication administration includes Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
• RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
• Skills required include IVs, PCA, feeding tubes, wound vac, CBI, trach care, and central line care
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule, 18:45-07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required per unit need
• ANM support provided on the unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical outcomes
• Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
• Facilitates patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
• Participates in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
• Complies with regulatory standards and unit practice governance model
