Travel RN Assignment Summary – Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown RN
- Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown (Intermediate Care)
- Weekly Hours:36 hours/week
- Contract Length:13 weeks
- Shift:3×12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Experience Requirements
- 1+ year of strong Cardiac experience (Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
- 2+ years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience
- At least one completed travel assignment
- 1+ year of recent Epic experience
- Must be proficient with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
- Must pass an EKG exam during the first week
Required License & Certifications
- Wisconsin RN License
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
Unit Highlights
- 44-bed Intermediate Cardiac Stepdown Unit
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4
- Fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac environment
- Common patient populations include:
- Post-op CABG and valve surgery
- Thoracotomy
- Vascular surgery
- Arrhythmias
- CHF
- Post-cardiac cath
- Pacemakers/ICDs
- Ablations
- Acute chest pain/MI
- Med/Surg overflow (DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, detox, etc.)
Scheduling & Floating
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Floating: Required to all inpatient units as needed
- Low Census: Up to 36 unbillable hours during the contract. Travelers may be flexed in 4-hour increments (this is not considered on-call).
