Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer for a 13-week assignment in an EKG Lab setting, requiring proficiency in echocardiography and Epic charting.

Details

  • Work in the EKG Lab department performing cardiac ultrasound examinations
  • Shift schedule runs 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Current BLS certification (AHA required)
  • License required if applicable
  • Proficient in 2-dimensional, color Doppler, and Doppler echocardiography
  • Skilled in performing stress and dobutamine echocardiograms
  • Proficient in non-imaging continuous Doppler for diagnosing abnormal pathologies
  • Must be able to diagnose wall motion abnormalities, left ventricular regional wall abnormalities, pericardial and pleural effusion, stenotic and regurgitant lesions, and congenital abnormalities
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must be able to mobilize equipment for portable studies

Additional Information

  • Review patient charts to obtain clinical history prior to performing exams
  • Explain procedures to patients and position them for cardiac ultrasound examinations
  • Perform several portable studies per day requiring equipment mobilization
  • Record and review test results for accuracy and prepare test reports using ancillary devices such as video recorders and transducers
  • Record, calculate, and plot control values on technical instruments to ensure reliability and accuracy
  • Maintain testing rooms in clean and orderly condition, including stocking supplies and disposing of soiled linen
  • Clean equipment including patient cables, transducers, and ultrasound machines
  • Review and interpret test results, notifying referring physicians or house officers of preliminary reports
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
  • Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility to be eligible for the standard travel rate
