Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Echocardiogram Technologist for a high-volume hospital cardiology unit requiring ARDMS/CCI registration and the ability to perform 9 studies per shift.

Details

• Cardiology Non-Invasive department in a high-volume hospital setting
• Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients
• Must be able to perform 9 studies per shift
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Shares responsibility for on-call coverage for echo emergency exams outside regular working hours

Requirements

• A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required
• State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required if applicable
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year allied health education program preferred
• 2 years of experience performing echocardiograms preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and manual dexterity skills required
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and at a rapid pace under stressful conditions

Additional Information

• Performs technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams
• Coordinates with interrelated hospital departments including scheduling, patient transport, and billing accuracy
• Assists cardiologists during dictation by preparing and measuring M-modes and relaying pertinent diagnostic information
• Responds to patient needs during exams and reports condition changes to physicians or nursing staff
• Maintains equipment quality control and coordinates repair services as needed
• Logs patients and exams and files patient records
• Participates in departmental and hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities
• Assists with other cardiac procedures as needed
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Local candidates may be considered only when explicitly designated by the facility
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment
