Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience required, preferably in stepdown, cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or thoracic surgery care
• Active RN license
• Experience caring for stepdown patients with cardiac and post-surgical needs preferred
• Ability to work night shifts in a high-acuity hospital environment
• Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment, communication, and monitoring skills
• Completion of required compliance, onboarding, and credentialing items prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients on a cardiac and thoracic surgery stepdown unit
• Monitor patient condition, assess changes, and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
• Support recovery and ongoing care for post-operative and cardiac patients in an acute care setting
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and thoroughly
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge needs
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to promote quality patient outcomes
