Position Overview

This is an Auto-Offer Cardiac Stepdown RN assignment. The RN will provide care to post-operative cardiac and medically complex patients while utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining Mercy's professional standards of care.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year recent Cardiac Stepdown inpatient experience
• Inpatient experience required

Licensure

• Current Missouri RN License or
• Eligible for Missouri licensure through Compact License

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Preferred Certification

• NIHSS

Scheduling & Requirements

• Shift: Nights (1900–0730)

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week

   

Ideal Candidate

• RN with 1+ year recent Cardiac Stepdown inpatient experience
• Strong experience caring for post-CABG and cardiac surgery patients
• Skilled in chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP
• Epic proficient
• Team-oriented, flexible, and committed to fostering a positive unit culture
• Comfortable floating to similar or lower-acuity units as needed
