Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown
• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
• Setting: Acute care stepdown unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As scheduled
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts
• Floating: Yes, to sister units within the Heart and Vascular Institute
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070-$2,180

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Cardiac nursing and/or vascular experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience titrating drips such as heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, and dobutamine
• Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional floating assignments

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to post-op cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and cardiology patients
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, LVAD placement, TAVR, angiograms, stents, pacemakers, and ablations
• Titrate and manage ordered IV medications and drips based on patient needs
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, clinical associates, and monitor technicians
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and support safe, timely interventions
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain clear clinical communication across the care team
• Contribute to a teamwork-driven environment focused on excellent patient outcomes
