Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown position requiring an active IL RN license and prior stepdown experience.

Details

• Cardiac Stepdown unit in a hospital setting
• Level 1 trauma center
• 1:7 patient ratio
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 1845 start times will float
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within the same discipline across local campuses may be required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license in Illinois required at time of consideration
• Iowa RN license required, or proof of application for an Iowa single-state or compact license
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Minimum 1 year of previous stepdown experience required
• Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
• Experience with medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban, including titration
• At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory reference from within 2 years of employment/contract required

• Contribute clinical knowledge and skills as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Local candidates will be considered
• Candidates who were employed by the facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
