Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift hospital position requiring at least one year of cardiac telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on a 16-bed unit with average daily census of 16
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac telemetry experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease care
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis, telemetry monitoring, EKG, and Doppler
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
• Manage patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and cardiac angiogram
• Administer heparin protocols and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips without titration
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized prior to start with no requests during orientation week
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were cancelled or not returned to a facility must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
