Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a combined MS/Tele-PCU unit requiring 2 years of experience and an active MD or compact RN license.

Details

• Combined MS/Tele (3E CPU) unit requiring higher acuity and PCU experience
• Adult and geriatric patient population with average daily census of 30 across 22 rooms/30 beds
• Diverse diagnoses including CHF, ECOPD, NSTEMI, new onset AFib, arrhythmias, sepsis, and renal failure/AKI
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within specialty as needed
• No pre-scheduled on call, but may be placed on call in lieu of a call-off
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state or Compact)
• BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Strong CPU and PCU experience required; will consider first-time travelers with this background
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and oxygen administration
• IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care experience
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization care experience

• Care for a variety of complex telemetry patients on a combined med-surg/PCU unit
• Manage dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies as part of daily responsibilities
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments within scope
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible unless otherwise specified
• Former staff must have a 12-month break before returning as a travMuller
• Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system after completing an assignment
• RTO requests should be submitted at time of offer and limited to no more than 1 major and 1 minor holiday during fall/winter
