Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiac/Telemetry Progressive Care Unit role requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and an active MN RN license.

Details

• Cardiac/Telemetry Intermediate Care Unit within an acute care, teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• Patient population includes post-CABG, valve replacement, Watchman, TAVR, CHF, DKA/HHS, thoracotomy, cardio-renal syndrome, respiratory failure, arrhythmias, and chest tube patients
• Utilizes vasoactive IV drips, BiPAP, CPAP, AVAPS, heated high flow, and temporary pacers
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Cardiac/Telemetry or PCU setting required
• Experience with vasoactive IV drips, BiPAP, endocrine/insulin drip management, and post-op cardiac surgery care required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience preferred
• Comfort managing cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and renal failure patients required
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Must provide date of birth, SSN, and certification copies for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for complex cardiac and post-surgical patients in a progressive care setting
• Navy scrub color required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible unless applying for a radiology position
• Ideally no more than 5 days of requested time off during the assignment
• Must be gone at least 3 months since last worked as a perm staff or per diem employee at this health system to be eligible for consideration
