Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Short Stay/Telemetry position requiring cardiac unit experience and competency with venous sheath pulls.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Short Stay department of a hospital, open 24 hours to accommodate pre and post CVL procedure throughput
• Care for patients before and after cardiovascular lab (CVL) procedures
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• No call requirements
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required as needed within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Uses Cerner Powerchart charting system

Requirements

• Active or pending MI RN license, with application submitted within 24 hours of offer if pending
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, with at least 1 year on a cardiac unit
• Competency with venous sheath pulls required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drip management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac angiogram care required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for cardiac patients pre and post CVL procedures, including sheath removal and cardiac monitoring
• Respond to dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days, and if RTO falls during the holidays, travelers must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 designated holidays
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
