Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift position in a Level I trauma center.

Details

• Float between cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if departmental need arises

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Follow Standard Precautions using PPE as required
• Work in a stressful, fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative nursing team
