Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level I trauma center.

Details

• Works in a 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Required to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if the department has a need

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Work as part of a team with strong support from PCTs and unit secretaries
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Radius rule applies allowing local candidates at a reduced rate, varying by state
