Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position at a Level I trauma center, requiring 2 years of experience and an active RN license (Standard or Compact).

Details

• Work in a 28-bed cardiac telemetry stepdown/intermediate care unit within a Level I trauma center
• Care for adult patients of all ages with cardiac needs, including post-operative care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• 13-week assignment with a night shift schedule of 18:30-07:00
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required if departmental need arises

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient condition as needed
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Work collaboratively within nursing teams supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
