Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a float pool position requiring flexibility to work across 8 different units and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital (Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow)
• Care for ED boarder patients, serve as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented, transfer-ready ICU patients
• Units range from 8 to 41 beds within a 371-bed hospital
• Clinician to patient ratio up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
• Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required
• Primarily scheduled on days/evenings with 1 to 3 rotations to nights per contract
• 13-week assignment at 36 hours per week
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• Performs telemetry monitoring including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• Performs cardiac drips and TR Band procedures

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location required
• 2 years of experience working as a traveler required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required, including strip interpretation and cardiac drip management
• TR Band experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float between 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units as needed
• Free on-site parking is available for this position
• Local candidates are accepted but must reside at least 60 miles from the hospital in Boston, with a reduced rate applying
• First-time travelers are not eligible given the required 2 years of prior travel nursing experience
