Job Summary: The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) located in Madison, WI, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join their dynamic team for night shifts. This role involves providing specialized care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplants, and other complex cardiovascular procedures. The ideal candidate will possess experience in critical care environments and demonstrate proficiency in advanced cardiovascular management and technological expertise.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 10/12/2026 through 01/11/2027.
Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license, at least 2 years of recent acute care experience in a cardiac or intensive care setting, ACLS and BLS certifications, and experience with CVICU-specific procedures such as arterial line management, CVVHD/CRRT, and ventricular assist device management.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NextStage CVVH machine, cardiothoracic surgery, and acuity adaptable units.
Additional Information: The role includes working in a high-acuity, multi-disciplinary environment with a focus on complex cardiac and thoracic cases. Candidates must pass a telemetry test and demonstrate expertise in critical cardiovascular monitoring and procedures. The unit operates with a team including Care Team Leaders, Rapid Response Nurses, and bedside RNs, with a typical patient assignment of 1-2 patients, but may care for up to 3 depending on acuity.
