Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) nurse position is located in a healthcare organization within a busy acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult patients with complex medical conditions, including sepsis, stroke, cardiac emergencies, and renal failure. The position requires critical thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:

- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starts on 08/03/2026
- Required Qualifications: Licensure to practice as a registered nurse, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, and at least 1 year of nursing experience in an ICU setting or related environment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ICU procedures such as managing balloon pumps, CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), Impella, EVDs (External Ventricular Drains), and neuro monitoring is advantageous. Prior experience with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC, is preferred.
- Duties: Provide bedside care for adult patients with cardiovascular and neurological needs, including titration of drips such as sedation and pressors, monitoring patient status via telemetry, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team. RNs will read and interpret telemetry strips, troubleshoot ventilator equipment, and participate in bedside shift reports and hourly rounding.
- Additional Information: The unit operates a remote monitoring system (eICU) and emphasizes personalized patient care with a focus on complex clinical scenarios. Self-scheduling is permitted, and the nurse must be able to work collaboratively across various hospital units, mainly floation to PCU. The community is culturally diverse, and the candidate should demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity. Personal scrubs in navy blue are required.
