Job Summary
ICU Cardiovascular (CVICU) Nurse Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized critical care to cardiac and thoracic surgery patients in a Magnet Designated facility. The role requires delivering patient-centered care with a focus on invasive line monitoring, chest tubes, cardiac medications, and ventilator management in a dynamic critical care environment.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, Degree, Location, and Experience Requirements: Must possess BLS and ACLS certifications, with a minimum of one year of ICU experience including one year in CVICU.
• Schedule: Nights shifts from 0700-1900 or 1900-0700, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Job Responsibilities:
  • Competent in invasive line monitoring (Swan Ganz, arterial lines).
  • Manage pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous), chest tubes, and cardiac medications such as inotropes and vasopressors.
  • Ventilator and tracheostomy management, along with cardiac rhythm interpretation.
  • RN may draw from invasive lines but not peripheral sticks.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is preferred.
  • Support within the department includes access to a charge nurse, 24/7 intensivist and surgeon coverage, bedside telemetry monitoring, and phlebotomy assistance.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiovascular surgical procedures (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD) is preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to start on 10/05/2026 and be available through 01/02/2027, with orientation including 1 day of facility and unit orientation plus 2-4 hours of NEO training, followed by placement on the unit with a preceptor.
