Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) position is located in a healthcare facility that specializes in post-operative cardiac care. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients immediately following open heart surgeries, such as CABG, MVR, and AVR, as well as managing complex cardiac conditions, hemodynamic instability, and advanced respiratory support. The position requires a dedicated professional with experience in cardiovascular intensive care, capable of adapting to high-acuity clinical environments.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30), minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: MD RN license, BLS, CPI, ACLS, NIHSS; 0 years of experience (additional certifications preferred)
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-op open heart patients immediately post-surgery, units with cardiac care expertise
• Float: Required to Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) as needed
• Additional Information: The role involves caring for postoperative cardiac surgery patients, managing hemodynamic instability, inotropic medications, ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced cardiovascular interventions. The unit maintains a patient census of 3-5 with a staffing ratio of 1:2. Responsibilities include managing complex cardiac protocols, hemodynamic monitoring, and operating specialized equipment such as Impella and IABP. Candidates should be comfortable floating and working in a high-acuity environment with immediate post-op open heart patients. Submissions should include current licenses and certifications, and compliance documentation must be completed within 5 days prior to the start date.
