Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) nurses are needed for a position in an acute care setting. The role involves providing specialized critical care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including recent open-heart surgeries, as well as a mix of ICU patient types. The assignment offers 12-hour night shifts with self-scheduling and a focus on maintaining high-acuity patient care.

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 36 hours per week, with every other weekend; schedule made out about six weeks in advance but not finalized until manager review
Required Qualifications: Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); must be willing to submit license; minimum of 2 years of experience providing care to patients with recent open-heart surgery and mixed ICU patient populations
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fresh open hearts, recent ICU experience, and handling mixed ICU patient cases
Float: Float rotation may be required to tele and medical-surgical units
Additional Information: Unit notes specify that nurses will undergo a proctored dysrhythmia test on day one, which is pass/fail; nurses will not take patient assignments when serving as charge nurses; orientation includes one day of unit-specific training; ensures familiarity with Cerner charting system; and candidates must be comfortable working with monitors, vents, and hospitalist or intensivist presence 24/7.
