Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact license and prior high-risk cardiac surgery experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a critical care unit
• Patient population is 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure, including high-risk cardiac surgery, open heart recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT patients
• Utilizes Swan Ganz catheters and CCO monitoring
• Uses Cerner/COMPASS EMR
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• Floating required to MICU, SICU, or medical/cardiac stepdown units as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Preferred experience managing advanced cardiac devices such as IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheters
• License and Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care as an RN, implementing and monitoring individualized care plans and administering physician and nursing orders
• Lead discharge planning efforts in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary care team
• Navy scrub color required
• COVID vaccination is not required
