Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CSICU) position requiring a minimum of one year of recent CSICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a 12-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CSICU) within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes critically ill adults (young adult to geriatric) recovering from cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, or requiring intensive care interventions
  • Staffing ratio is 1:1 for direct post-operative open heart recovery and 1:2 for general ICU patients
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license accepted in NC
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent CSICU experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required

Additional Information

  • Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process for critically ill cardiovascular and vascular surgical patients
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and update patient care plans
  • Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by patient care plans
  • Assesses and anticipates discharge needs for patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex cases
  • Participates in unit performance improvement activities and promotes cost-effective, culturally competent care
  • Two professional references required for consideration
