Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring MA RN licensure and mechanical circulatory support experience.

Details

• Cardiovascular Surgery ICU treating cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, and advanced heart failure patients
• Unit specializes in mechanical circulatory support including IABP, Impella, ECMO, and durable VAD
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Float to other adult ICUs as needed
• Scheduling based on unit needs with no block schedules or special accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• Epic charting experience required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required (conditional license accepted while pursuing full licensure)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2.5 years of ICU experience required
• Cardiovascular ICU experience required
• Experience with mechanical circulatory support required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular surgical and medical patients, including those on mechanical circulatory support devices
• Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam at orientation with only one attempt allowed
• Must also complete a pass/fail medication exam at orientation
• Union facility with strict scheduling requirements and no accommodations
• Minimal RTO preferred, ideally 3-5 days
• Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
