The role focuses on supporting the surgical team in the operating room, with an emphasis on cardiovascular procedures and open-heart scrub capabilities.Key Highlights- Weekly pay: $2,221 – $2,365 per week- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week- Contract duration: 12 weeks- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts- Start date: 10/12/2026- Work setting: Short-term acute care travel assignmentResponsibilities- Assist the surgical team in the operating room by preparing cases, creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during procedures.- Assemble and maintain necessary equipment and supplies; monitor and manage inventory and facility equipment as assigned; maintain aseptic technique throughout cases.- Conduct instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards; assist with labeling solutions and maintaining a clean, orderly sterile field.- Transport patients as scheduled and support unit workflow; perform related clerical tasks and light housekeeping duties as needed to support the team.- Scrub cardiovascular surgical cases, including open-heart procedures, with solo capability or in tandem with a second scrub; participate in cases requiring EPIC documentation and system use.- Respond to call requirements; availability for on-call time approximately 50% of the scheduling period, typically lasting a full week at a time.Requirements- Active RN license in the state of assignment- CST certification or TS-C (NCCT) certification- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the field; open-heart experience strongly preferred- Cardiovascular scrub experience with the ability to scrub open-heart cases solo and with a second scrub- EPIC experience required- Education: High School/GED required; Associate’s/Technical degree or equivalent preferred- Ability to work in a surgical/OR setting and to travel to a travel assignmentBenefits and Support- 24/7 recruiter and travel support- Dedicated assignment support from onboarding through placement- Credentialing coordination and onboarding assistance- Potential for assignment extension opportunitiesFind more opportunitiesTo explore other openings available at https://healthforce.applytojob.com/applyPlease note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
