Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Allied Specialty: Cardiac Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 8:30 PM - 7 AM (Monday through Thursday) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: BLS Certifications: RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS or ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI) Must-Have: PALS (preferred), ACLS (preferred) Description: Cardiac Sonographer position available. Responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound examinations. Must be skilled in echocardiography techniques: 2D, Doppler, color flow, 3D, and strain analysis. Experience with contrast studies is necessary. Preferred skills include stress echo and interventional procedures. IV management training is preferred. RN experience should include TEEs, stress testing, EKG interpretation, IV management, cardioversion, mild sedation, and infusion. EP experience should include EKG interpretation, stress testing, and tilt table testing. Department support includes dedicated cardiac ultrasound educator and a chief sonographer. Fast-paced, patient and family-focused environment. High-quality academic lab focusing on both portable and in-lab studies. Average patients per day for various procedures. Patient types include those with heart failure and advanced cardiac diagnostics. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) system is required. Departmental equipment includes echocardiography machines from leading manufacturers. Opportunities for floating to satellite sites may be available.
