Job Title: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Radiology/Cardiology Specialty: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 08:00 - 16:30 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required, unit accepts first-time travelers if experienced. License: Required certifications include ARDMS. Certifications: BLS, ARDMS (REQUIRED) Must-Have: Experience in 2-D Echo, Adult Outpatient, Bubble Study, Color Doppler, Imaging with Contrast Agents, M-Mode, Treadmill Stress Echo. Description: If your traveler has worked for any affiliated facility as a permanent staff member, they must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel contract. Two years of experience is required. The unit accepts first-time travelers, but candidates need to be experienced sonographers. Skills include 2-D Echo, 3-D Echo, Bubble Study, Color Doppler, Imaging with Contrast Agents, Pharmacologic Stress Echo, Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), and Treadmill Stress Echo. Calculations needed include Simpson's Rule, Diastology, LV Strain/LV Volume, Proximal Isovelocity Surface Area. Proficiency with equipment such as GE, Hitachi, PACS, Philips, Siemens, SonoSite, and Toshiba is necessary. Documentation system used is EPIC/Change Healthcare. Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation services. The unit sees adult patients and includes both acute care and outpatient settings. References covering one year of experience within the last three years are required during the compliance process prior to start. Modules are necessary for compliance prior to starting the position and are self-reported.
