Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: Echocardiology Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Experience: 1+ Years License: Registered as a Cardiac Sonographer - RDCS or RCS Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Knowledge of Aseptic Technique and EKG Rhythms - Ability to use Electronic Medical Records - Experience with IV Insertion for Administration of Ultrasound Imaging Enhancement Agents and Bubble Studies - Graduate with an Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Echocardiography Program Description: The Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiography Technologist works closely with the cardiologist in the assessment and treatment of cardiac diseases. This role involves working in an Accredited Echo Lab, which includes outpatient and inpatient evaluations. On-call coverage for after-hours, weekends, and holidays is required. Diagnostic ultrasound testing includes m-mode, 2D, 3D, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, tissue Doppler imaging, strain imaging, bubble studies, and contrast-enhanced transthoracic echocardiograms. The position also requires conducting exercise and pharmacology stress echocardiograms and assisting the cardiologist with transesophageal echocardiograms.
