Job Title: Adult Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Radiology/Cardiology Specialty: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum 3 years recent experience License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, CCI or RDCS required Must-Have: - Competent in all forms of complex echo pathology - Experience with heart transplant, structural heart, and infiltrative diseases - Familiarity with echocardiography procedures such as TAVR, LVAD, Impella, and balloon pump imaging Description: Adult Cardiac Sonographer needed for a reputable facility. The facility specializes in the treatment of advanced cardiovascular disease. Daily assignments may include a combination of inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities include performing bedside echo, Stress Echo, TEE, or OR procedures. Required skills include assessment of regional wall motion abnormalities and valvular defects. Evaluation of shunts and saline contrast administration is also necessary. Sonographers will follow contrast administration protocols using Lumify and Definity. A minimum of 6-8 studies is expected in an 8-hour day or 8-9 studies in a 10-hour day. Shifts may start at 0600 or 0700 for 10-hour shifts and at 0700, 0800, and 0830 for 8-hour shifts. The position requires participation in occasional on-call duties. Candidates should be familiar with the necessary charting systems. Prior experience in an academic or large healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of strain imaging and the ability to submit detailed preliminary reports is essential. Candidates must be prepared to address the unique needs of various locations within the facility.
