Job Title: Cardiovascular Rad Tech Profession: Cardiovascular Rad Tech Specialty: Cardiovascular Rad Tech Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum one year catheterization experience preferred License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography (ARRT-R) required Certifications: - Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice required - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor required Description: Aids physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. Conducts invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. Operates x-ray and physiological equipment. Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Maintains equipment and records test results. Essential Functions: Assists physicians with procedures. Operates all special procedure equipment, selecting and modifying technical factors as needed. Acts as a resource for specialized or complicated procedures. Monitors, records, and evaluates patient vital signs throughout procedures. Provides protection to patients according to prescribed radiation safety standards. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures. Operates, records, and maintains physiologic equipment as per established clinical cardiovascular procedures. Responsible for all cardiac Cath equipment, reporting malfunctions, and practicing preventive maintenance. Assists physicians during special procedures and in the administration of opaque media via catheter or direct injection. Completes appropriate forms at the start and end of special procedures. Performs general office duties as requested. Keeps the area stocked and cleans equipment after each patient use. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
