Job Title: Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: Peds Multi-Spec Clinic Duration: 21 days Shift: 7A-3P Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years of independent practice; 3 years preferred; Pediatric experience required License: BLS (required); ARDMS: Adult (AE) registry with pediatric experience; Pediatric (PE) registry preferred Must-Have: - Pediatric experience - Experience with neonates, newborn, pediatric, and adults with congenital heart disease - Strong assessment skills Description: Manager interviews are in progress for a position starting November 17. The facility encompasses outpatient rooms, typically only one utilized for Pediatric Cardiology. The sonographer will work between outpatient and inpatient care areas. Patients range from premature babies to adults in their 60s. On average, the sonographer will see six outpatient patients and two inpatient patients per day. Support on the unit includes patient service representatives for check-ins and several nursing and medical assistant staff. There are two additional sonographers within the department and physician support from three cardiologists. In the case of on-call duties, cardiologists will notify the sonographer regarding necessary scans. Clinical informaticists are available to assist with IT-related concerns. The technology used includes an EMR system and Phillips equipment. The scheduling will involve weekend rotation every third weekend, with options for additional shifts if desired. Holiday expectations involve call only as the practice is closed six days per year. Time off requires manager approval. Scrub color is flexible as long as it is solid and professional. Scrubs can be provided if needed.
