Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist II Profession: Cardiovascular Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40.00 Experience: Minimum of 2 recent years of experience in Cath Lab License: - Certifications: AHA BLS, ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) or completion of Paramedic training program at time of hire Must-Have: - Stepdown/PCU experience - Travel experience - Level 1 Description: Under general to limited supervision and direction, this intermediate-level position accepts independent clinical and non-clinical duty assignments. The role delivers specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and diseases. Maintains the competencies required to perform essential duties and responsibilities of a Level I position. Utilizes intermediate-level professional knowledge, skills, and resources to provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care. This is delivered under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient practices, and diagnostic/urgent care centers. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to achieve desired clinical outcomes and service expectations. Utilizes highly specialized imaging equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional and/or surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm all required study elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality meets established protocols. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical data/findings, and prepares study for reporting by physician. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance per regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies. Provides instruction and mentors less experienced team members. Prepares and presents in-service training pertinent to the assigned service area. Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned.
