- Call requirements: approximately 1 weeknight and 2 weekend days per month

Responsibilities
- Assist in transportation and positioning of patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures
- Prepare the patient and room for planned procedures; open sterile supplies and set up instruments
- Assist with skin preparation, draping, gowning, and gloving; maintain instrument and sponge counts
- Pass instruments and sutures to the surgeon; assist with gowning and gloving as needed
- Aid in specimen handling, labeling, and delivery to the appropriate department
- Decontaminate instruments and assist in efficient turnover of the operating room between cases
- Monitor and restock supplies; support procedural setup and room readiness for subsequent cases

Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification pathway (choose one):
- Certified: Successfully pass the Certified Surgical Technologist exam (NBSTSA or NCCT)
- Non-Certified: Graduate of an OR technician program accredited through ARC/STSA or on-the-job/military training; evidence of training required
- Experience: 6 months of experience or specialized training appropriate to the role (non-certified path)
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Licenses: See job notes for licensing path (non-certified or certified per above)
- Ability to work in a hospital OR setting and participate in rotating call requirements
