Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Unit position requiring a MI RN license and prior telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain, with occasional overflow medical patients
• Patients are monitored via remote telemetry room as well as closely on the unit, and cardiac drips are administered
• Typical patient ratios range from 1:5-6, with the possibility of increasing to 1:7 during call-ins
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
• No call requirements
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Cerner PowerChart for charting
• May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume and census

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must be comfortable working in high-ratio telemetry environment

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with a requirement to work at least 1 of 3 holidays if RTO falls during that period
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Professional conduct is closely monitored, and issues such as unprofessional behavior or shift call-offs may result in immediate contract termination
