Description

American Traveler is hiring a Case Management RN for a 13-week acute hospital assignment requiring OH or compact RN licensure and 2 years of case management experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting supporting adult and geriatric patients across ICU, neuro/stroke, cardiology, oncology, and post-op/orthopedic units
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 4 weekends required per 13-week contract as needed
• Staffing ratio of 1:16 on weekdays and 1:100 on weekends
• Uses Epic for documentation (required) and CarePort; Pyxis medication system; SBAR communication
• Facility provides support services including IV teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response, respiratory, social services, and transportation
• Floating to other units and/or facilities may be required

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license required; pending OH license accepted if MI license is in hand
• 2 years of case management/utilization review experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Acute hospital experience in Medical-Surgical (MS) required
• Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, care coordination, medical necessity determination, discharge planning, disease management, DME ordering, plan of care, pre-cert review, and prior authorizations required
• BLS certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the last 24 months required
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained

Additional Information

• Coordinate patient care including discharge planning, utilization review, and compliance with CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission regulatory standards
• Business casual dress required; scrubs are not permitted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous perm staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Time off requests of 7+ days require manager approval; holidays and days surrounding holidays are excluded from RTO
