Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital in Broward County, FL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care Case Management experience and a FL or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

  • Case Management unit serving an adult and geriatric patient population
  • Patient caseload ratio of 1:25–30
  • Day shift schedule, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday (5x8-hour shifts)
  • One full weekend rotation every 4 weeks
  • No on-call or holiday coverage required
  • Level 1 Trauma facility
  • EMR systems in use include Epic, Cerner, AllScripts, Powerhart, and CarePort
  • Epic EMR experience is required; Cerner is preferred

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • BLS certification required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care hospital Case Management and Discharge Planning experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Degree must be from an accredited college or university (Florida Board of Nursing–approved institutions accepted; graduates of Operation Nightingale schools are not eligible)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include completing initial patient assessments and revisiting patients a minimum of every third day
  • Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening is required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses
  • 8 hours of facility orientation modules must be completed prior to start; modules are recorded via self-submitted Certificates of Completion
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower rate
  • Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
