Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Case Management/Utilization Review position requiring recent acute care discharge planning experience and an active FL or compact license.

Details

• Acute care hospital Case Management department serving adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:25-30
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, plus one full weekend every 4 weeks
• No call or holiday requirements
• Requires proficiency with Epic, CarePort, AllScripts, and Powerchart
• Patients must be reassessed at minimum every third day

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required in hand
• BLS certification via AHA required
• 2 years recent acute care hospital Case Management and discharge planning experience required within the past 24 months in a US hospital
• Prior experience with 1:25 patient ratios required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, continued stay reviews, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, plan of care management, and workers' comp case management
• Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission/National Safety Goals regulatory standards required
• Experience in large 300+ bed facility case management preferred
• Smoke-free facility
• Requires successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius considered at a lower rate
• Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools not accepted
