Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting, requiring 2 years of acute hospital case management experience and prior travel experience.

• Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating between like units required based on facility need
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• 2 years of acute hospital Case Management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
• Acute care experience required
• Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers may be considered with clinical approval)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/ordering DME, and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and prior authorizations
• May float between sister facilities near the contracted facility as needed
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, at a lower bill rate
• Free parking available on first day, with assignment parking provided during orientation
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with the healthcare system, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles, with location and dates
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-submittal RTO requests may not be granted
• First-time travelers may be considered pending clinical manager approval
