Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and prior acute care case management experience.
Details
- Case Management/Utilization Review unit within an Acute Hospital setting
- Day shift schedule (4x10 or 5x8), with shift times varying between approximately 0700-1530 and 0730-1800
- Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including potential floating to sister facilities
- Responsibilities include admission criteria review, appeals and denials, care coordination, continued stay reviews, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, plan of care, pre-cert review, and prior authorizations
- Utilizes Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required; ACM-RN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Acute care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Experience with InterQual criteria and Milliman guidelines preferred
- Knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, and Joint Commission standards preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

- Only 1 time off request per 13-week assignment (5 days or less); no holiday time off permitted
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
