Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring 2 years of recent acute medical Care Management experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
• Patient ratio of 1:25
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week
• Days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be back-to-back
• Floating to the Laguna facility is expected
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending license accepted if licensed by start date
• 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing Care Coordination required within the last 3 months
• Prior travel nursing assignment experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Experience with Care Coordination, Discharge Planning, Disease Management, Needs Assessment/DME Ordering, Plan of Care, and Workers' Comp Case Management
• Familiarity with regulatory standards including CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, DRG, and The Joint Commission
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must provide response regarding any prior employment history with Providence facilities

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, and utilization review within an acute hospital setting
• Scrub color is turquoise or business casual attire permitted
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies for standard travel rate eligibility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
