Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring prior travel experience and 2 years of recent acute medical Care Management/Care Coordination experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
• Patient ratio of 1:25
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
• Variable 5-day workweek with department operations 7 days per week; days off not guaranteed to be consecutive
• Floating required to a sister facility in Laguna
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending license accepted if licensed by start date)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing Care Coordination, within the last 3 months
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Experience with appeals and denials, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment/DME ordering, plan of care, and worker's comp case management preferred
• Familiarity with regulatory standards including CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, DRG, and The Joint Commission preferred

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disability and worker's comp case management, and needs assessment/DME ordering
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Scrub color is turquoise or business casual attire
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or be willing to accept the local pay rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years required
