Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting, requiring 2 years of acute hospital case management experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute hospital Case Management department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required between like units based on facility need
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Case Management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
• Required Epic EMR experience
• Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
• Familiarity with CMS, DRG, HIPAA, and Joint Commission/Core Measures regulatory guidelines
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Coordinate patient care across acute hospital settings including Emergency Department, ICU, Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, and SDU/PCU/IMC/Obs units
• Perform care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessments, and prior authorization duties
• Workers' compensation case management experience preferred
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application
• Local candidates accepted
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies, with local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and location
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the system
