Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN for a travel contract at a 536-bed academic teaching hospital in Portland, OR, requiring at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting with 536 total staff beds at a teaching hospital
  • Cath Lab unit with a 1:1 patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00–17:00)
  • On-call is required on both weekdays and weekends
  • Floating between sister facilities within the state is expected and may include locations in Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent
  • Scrubs are provided for Cath Lab staff
  • Epic EMR is used and experience is required
  • No weekend requirement outside of on-call obligations

Requirements

  • Active OR RN license required; Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
  • At least 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred given facility type
  • A personal vehicle is required for this assignment
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) including location and dates

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
  • Floating to other units and facilities is common and refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment
  • When floated to the Seaside facility from a non-Seaside contracted location, travelers receive a $5/hr incentive for hours worked there, IRS mileage reimbursement, and a hotel if floating for consecutive shifts
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be granted
  • Candidates with background check hits or Nursys issues are not accepted by this facility
